Options for doing your taxes under Linux

  1. you can use Glenn Reeves, excel 1040 spreadsheet found here with OpenOffice . this works quite well, but I did have troubles printing one page, some how it was one line to long.

  2. The web filing with Turbo-Tax works, I would guess others would too. Again when it came time to print, their overlay menu to print did not work. Solution: save as PDF, and use acroread or foxit, etc. to print!

  3. There is also https://www.freefilefillableforms.com , which appears to be to be a flash app, works well, but again there was a print menu problem, but saving it as a PDF solved it.

If you computer seems slow or infected, I wouldn't do taxes on it.
